The True North Framework

Direction before motion. Alignment yields action
The True North Framework is built on a simple reality: most people and teams aren’t stuck because they lack effort — they’re stuck because their effort isn’t aligned. When values, priorities, relationships, and decisions point in different directions, energy turns into busyness instead of progress. True North brings clarity and movement together.
Direction comes from values, purpose, and shared meaning. Action comes from commitment and follow-through. Alignment connects the two, turning effort into meaningful momentum. Rather than focusing on analysis of the past or motivational hype, the framework is forward-looking and practical — helping individuals, partners, and teams clarify what matters, align how they communicate and decide, and move forward with intention.
The True North Framework is informed by a Christian understanding of purpose and stewardship, recognizing that clarity is not only strategic but spiritual — shaped by calling, responsibility, and integrity. Scripture reminds us that “where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18), and that divided focus leads to instability (James 1:8). By aligning their beliefs, decisions, and actions, True North helps people live and lead with faithful, intentional movement forward.

M-Power Your Journey
New Year - New You!
I recently had the opportunity to be interviewed by Lorna Greyling on M-Power TV on YouTube. We explored what it means to live and lead with alignment rather than simply staying busy.
In the conversation, we talked about why effort alone doesn’t always create progress, how clarity of direction changes the way we move, and why alignment often matters more than speed.
These themes sit at the heart of my work — helping individuals, partners, and teams move forward with purpose instead of pressure.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re working hard but still not quite heading where you want to go, I think you’ll find this conversation meaningful.
Direction before motion. Alignment yields action.

TESTIMONIALS
I had a great experience with Jim Dixon being my coach. He opened my eyes to quite a few things that I never thought possible. I served in the United States Marine Corps and I have PTSD. Jim's coaching made me realize that I was a survivor and that I have success in my life. Due to Jim’s coaching it’s helped me positively to look at the future and goal-setting in a better light. If you’re need a great coach go to Jim Dixon he’s awesome and he’ll help you like he helped me.
Jason Lee - Former Marine
Working with Jim over these last couple months has been great. He's helped me work through some self-induced limitations that I was not even aware were holding me back.
He tailored his methods to suit how my internal processes function, and helped me to take more active control of situations. More importantly, he's shone a spotlight on the workings of my own mind, so that I can be mindful of my own strengths and idiosyncrasies.
He's guided me to be able to explore my own core beliefs so that I can leverage my actions to their best potential. This isn't a coaching program to get me to conform to any specific “correct” way of doing things. It is a bespoke program which allows me to highlight my own internal processes and make my own way of doing things most efficient.
Jim is great and very grounded in reality. His insight and know-how are unparalleled, and he has a knack for helping others unlock their own potential through very practical means.

About
My name is James Dixon
I started True North Coaching and Leadership because I’ve seen what happens when people work hard without clear direction — and I’ve also seen the transformation that occurs when purpose and action align.
I believe each person is called to a purpose, and that discovering and living from that purpose brings clarity, gratitude, and meaningful momentum. For me, faith is not separate from leadership or growth; it’s the foundation. Direction isn’t just strategic — it’s personal and spiritual.
I proudly served in the U.S. Navy for nearly 23 years, leading, training, and developing people in high-responsibility environments. After retiring from the Navy, I continued working in leadership as a Project Manager and Government Contractor, and later as a Training and Calibration Manager in the pharmaceutical industry. Across each role, the pattern was the same: people didn’t lack effort — they lacked alignment.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Management and a Master’s degree in Leadership, along with multiple certifications in coaching, NLP, Jungian-based approaches, and Ikigai discovery. I use these tools not as formulas, but as guides — helping individuals, partners, and teams clarify direction, align values with decisions, and move forward intentionally.
If you feel busy but misaligned, or if you care deeply but feel stuck, I’d be glad to have a conversation. No pressure — just clarity.
